Fall Baseball is a great opportunity for players who are looking for more baseball in a little different format. As always, we emphasize player development and having fun. Fall is a little different than spring in that we will play different local Little Leagues around the Portland Metro area, not just other CMLL teams. The weather is usually much better than in the spring. While winning games is always fun, there is no trophy, playoffs, standings, or Tournament teams at the end of the season. It's all about having fun practicing and playing games. It is strongly encouraged that players play Fall Baseball in the division where they are anticipating playing in next spring. Especially for the Spring AA and AAA players who will be moving up, Fall will give the players a great taste for the next level.
The season starts with practices that begin in mid to late August. Games start in early September, historically. The season will run through the last weekend of October. All the games will be played on the weekend: Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be two games per weekend, with the possibility of a only one game per weekend occasionally. There will usually be two practices per week, during the weekday evenings and have been held at Sunset Park.
CMLL offers Fall baseball for all players who meet the following three criteria:
1. Born between Sep 1, 2007 and August 31, 2014
2. Registered to play at the Majors, AAA, or AA level in the Spring of 2020.
3. Live or attend school within the CMLL boundaries.
Three Fall baseball divisions will be offered...50/70, Majors and AAA. There will be one or more teams per division depending on interest. 50/70 is dependent on player interest and coach availability.
50/70 level is offered for returning Spring 2020 Majors players born between Sep 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008.
Majors level is for all returning Spring 2020 Majors players and/or players born between September 1, 2008 and August 31, 2010
AAA level is for returning Spring 2020 AAA and AA players born between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2012
CMLL reserves the right to assign players to an appropriate level based upon skill. The players will need to play in a level in the fall that they are likely to play in the Spring of 2019. If a player wishes to play in a division outside of the age range above, email Brian Tosky or Mike Hester at [email protected]
Fall Baseball registration closes July 27th, 2020 with a $25 late fee starting July 24th, 2020. All registrations will be done through the CMLL website at www.cmllonline.org. A wait list will be available for those that miss the registration deadline, but placement on a team is not guaranteed.
