At the completion of the regular season schedule, teams in the Upper Divisions will be seeded based on their records (tie breaker rules defined at the bottom of this page). Seeding Tie-Breaker Rules

In the event of a tie within a divisions' team seeding, we will use the tiebreaking procedure below.  A tie is defined as having the exact same winning percentage as defined by the standings on the SportsEngine site. The GameChanger app is the official record keeping for wins / losses and player stats though does not account for tie scores in its Win % calculation, so we default to the SportsEngine calculation for that metric.  For example, 6-5-1 vs 6-5-1 is a tie, while 6-5-1 (.542 win pctg) and 5-4-1 (.550 win pctg) is not a tie and 5-4-1 is the higher numerical / lower ranked seed.

Tiebreakers:

A.  If two teams have the exact same record at the end of the season, the tie will be broken as follows:

  1. head-to-head record of teams that are tied...if still tied,
  2. run differential in head-to-head games....if still tied,
  3. coin toss

B.  If more than two teams have the exact same record at the end of the season, the tie will be broken as follows:

  1. head-to-head record within all teams that are tied...if still tied,
  2. run differential in head-to-head games within all teams that are tied...if still tied,
  3. pick number out of hat

Procedure B can be used several times until only two teams are still tied.  Procedure A can then be used to break the tie between the remaining two teams.

Modified Rules for Tournament

All published league rules are in effect during the tournament with the following exceptions:

1. A game may not end in a tie. Time-permitting, extra innings will be played until a winner is determined.

2. Any incomplete game will be suspended and finished on another date starting from the point where it was suspended
